Coastal Talisman Abalone and Tahitian Pearl Lariat Necklace
There is a particular quiet that belongs to the northern coast — Sea Ranch, Point Arena — where the fog holds the shoreline in its hands and the tide gives up its secrets only to those willing to wait for them. Barefoot, early, before the world wakes: this is where these pieces begin.
Abalone shell is not gathered so much as it is found — offered, briefly, by a sea that rarely gives twice. Each shell carries its own weather: streaks of violet where the light caught it, a green that shifts like something remembered rather than seen. No two are alike, because no two mornings on that shoreline ever are.
Set alongside them, Tahitian and baroque pearls — each one irregular, each one honest about its own shape. Nothing here was smoothed into sameness. The pearls hold their own kind of iridescence, dark and quiet, a counterweight to the abalone's brighter shimmer.
Strung on gold-filled chain, each piece is one of one — a small, wearable fragment of that coastline, carried with you long after the tide has gone back out.
Tahitian pearls, hand-foraged abalone shell (Sea Ranch & Point Arena, CA), rolled box 32" gold-filled chain. One of one.
